3.5 per cent decline in Indian students studying in US
Despite the dramatic increase in the number of graduate students coming to the US from India in 2012-13, the number of students from India has declined overall. Approximately 97,000 students from India were studying in the US in 2012-13, down by 3.5 percent from the previous year, due to the sharp devaluation in the Indian rupee, thus marking three consecutive years of decline, said the Educational Exchange Data from Open Doors 2013 released by the Institute of International Education (IIE).
