35% OF RETURNED STUDENTS HAVE DIFFICULTY IN FINDING A JOB

China Education News

Recent research surveyed over 1500 students who returned to China with foreign degrees and discovered that over 35% of the respondents have had difficulty in finding a job. Other research completed several years ago discovered that only 58% of returnees found jobs within six months.
Researchers suggest that the main reasons are that employers want students who are familiar with the China market and returned students are not familiar with the China market. In addition, employers are increasingly paying attention to students’ abilities and personal qualities, and de-emphasizing education backgrounds.
