China attracts more foreign students in 2014
According to the Ministry of Education, more than 377,000 foreign students arrived in China for studies last year, a 6% increase over 2013. China’s economic development and financial support from governments and universities were key factors in attracting the overseas students. The number of students from Oceania and Africa increased dramatically year-over-year, while the number of students from the Americas dropped by 2% versus a year earlier. A total of 6,000 students came from Oceania, up 32% from 2013, while the number from Africa increased 25% to 42,000.
