China faces challenges in international student recruitment and retention

While more and more Chinese young people study overseas, universities in China are trying to lure students from abroad in ever greater numbers and the country is attempting to transform itself into an attractive destination for international students. Sixth Tone

KIM’S NOTE:  Most international students in China are from Asia which makes perfect sense given regional economies. What China is now discovering is that attracting international students, and serving them well, is actually very difficult. Western institutions have been earnestly working on this for quite a long time and it is not surprising that it will take some years for Chinese institutions to catch up.
