CHINESE PRESIDENT STRESSES ENERGY RESOURCE TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION
President Hu Jintao congratulates the China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT) on its 100th anniversary in a letter that cites the need to develop a deeper pool of skilled talent in China’s energy resource industries. State Councilor Liu Yandong attended the anniversary celebration, and noted that the scientific exploitation and clean use of energy resources is a major issue for countries around the world and is also a key factor that is restricting China’s modernization.
