Delhi University: FYUP holds some positives as well
The four-year undergraduate program to be introduced in Delhi University (DU) holds many positives from a socio-economic perspective. Yet, India is experiencing a paradox of millions of young graduates preparing to join the workforce each year while India Inc is not generating enough new jobs to absorb them. The four-year degree programwill have a positive impact in delaying the burden of generating employment on the state, as well as adding to the maturity level of job applicants.Socially, simple mathematics of adding a year to the graduating age of young people will have a direct impact on delaying the age of marriage, with a domino effect on pushing back the age when young couples have children.
