DOCTORATE CANDIDATES IN CHINA
The level of training and qualifications of China’s PhD holders is currently one of the hot topics in China. Specifically, the concern is the establishment of an evaluation system to make PhD training more meaningful. China is offering 62,000 PhDs this year. Without a strict criteria and oversight, China will soon become the world’s No 1 producer of doctorates, though in number only.
