Employment demands see negative growth in first-tier cities

Employment demand across China’s first-tier cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen saw negative growth for the first time, according to a report issued by Renmin University’s China Institute of Employment Research (CIER). ECNS

KIM’S NOTE: That said, CIER’s report presents an overall favorable report on job growth when looking at first- to third-tier cities. Notably, the number of IT/Internet sector jobs grew substantially in emerging first-tier and third-tier cities, but actually shrank in tier-one cities.
