HRD Ministry rejects media reports stating UGC being scrapped
A recent controversial report published in an Indian national daily was immediately rejected by the HRD Ministry. The report stated that the panel formed by HRD Minister Smriti Irani to review the University Grant Commission (UGC), has expressed strong displeasure about the current workings of the organization and has recommended the drastic measure of completely scrapping it.
