China Education News

Illinois State University (ISU) has signed two agreements with Wuhan University, one of China’s top universities. One of the agreements is a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that calls for cooperation between the schools in faculty and student exchanges, and the other agrees to have four students from Wuhan University come to ISU to study for one or two semesters, with ISU sending four students and faculty to Wuhan for two weeks in the summer of 2015. Wuhan University is particularly interested in ISU’s PhD programs in teaching and higher education administration.
There are 50 Chinese students currently studying at ISU, most of them majoring in business and engineering technology programs. Luis Canales, director of ISU’s international studies office, added that the school is committed to doubling the number of ISU students going abroad over the next 5 years, from 400 now to 800 by 2019.
