New education policy – public consultancy now open

India Education News

The government of India launched the much deliberated and exhaustive exercise for holding consultations aimed at the drafting of a new national education policy and have invited suggestions and discussions on 33 themes.
A list of these 33 themes can be seen here. These links will lead visitors to www.mygov.in which restricts access to registered users. Registration is free and open to all.
Not surprisingly, “Internationalization of higher education” is one of the 33 themes. “Globalization has resulted in greater cross border higher education. However, there is a need for a better policy that encourages collaborations, student and faculty mobility, etc. What are the changes necessary to bring about the internationalization of HE.”
This reflects the growing support from all quarters to allow international players to operate in India. The latest is industrialist Mr. G.P Hinduja, co-chairman of the Hinduja group, who has written to Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani in this regard.
