SURVEY: CHINESE PEOPLE READING FEWER BOOKS, MORE INTERNET ARTICLES

Chinese people read books – less than 15 minutes per day on average, according to the “Seventh National Survey on Chinese Literacy,” which was published on April 19. However, the rate of reading books has increased slightly and the rate of purchasing pirated publications has decreased significantly. The time that people spend surfing the Internet and reading articles on mobile phones has increased remarkably, but the average time per day that people spend reading books, newspapers and magazines has decreased.
