UK HE: US overtakes India as first year enrolments drop

China Education News

The number of first-year non-EU enrolments to UK higher education providers has fallen by 3%, according to new data released by the Higher Education Statistics Agency.
The data, from the academic year 2014/15, also shows that for the first time there are now more first-year enrolments from the US than from India. With a 1% increase in US students enrolling in their first year, the US becomes the second largest source country in first-year enrolments for UK higher education.
China remains the top sending country from outside the EU, with Chinese students accounting for 34% of non-EU first-year enrolments, the same percentage they represented in 2013/14.
