‘University Grants Commission umbrella will make open education more popular’
The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India has entrusted all the regulatory responsibilities of the Open and Distance Education (ODE) system in the country upon University Grants Commission (UGC). Confirming this, Prof AK Bakhshi, vice-chancellor, UP Rajarshi Tandon Open University (UPRTOU), Allahabad, the sole open university in UP, said a letter to this effect had been received by him from UGC.
