Beijing miXer at Peking University with IELTS China

A recap of the recent miXer event held in Beijing on July 30, 2024, at the picturesque Chengze Garden of Peking University. This gathering marked our first in-person event of the year, which was made possible through our collaboration with the Peking University School of National Development and sponsorship from IELTS China. Despite challenging weather conditions, including heavy rain, the event was a resounding success, attracting a diverse group of attendees eager to engage in meaningful discussions.

Event Highlights

The miXer event featured two insightful panel discussions that addressed pressing topics in international education:

Best Practices in Recruitment

This panel focused on the evolving landscape of student recruitment in China. As policies and market dynamics shift, students’ and parents’ decision-making processes are also changing. Our panellists shared valuable insights on how to navigate these changes and adapt to new trends in international education.

Professional and Career Development for In-country Representatives

We extend our gratitude to Alex Green, Kelvin Bin Yu, and Barbara Sun for sharing their inspiring career journeys in international education. Their stories highlighted personal growth, challenges faced, and the pathways to success, offering motivation to all attendees.

Community Growth

Over the past year, the miXer community has expanded significantly, now boasting a dedicated committee of 14 representatives across China. This growth reflects our commitment to fostering a collaborative network within the education sector.

Looking Ahead

We are excited about future events, including the upcoming miXer gathering in Guangzhou at the end of August. This event promises to build on the momentum of our Beijing gathering and further strengthen connections within the community.
