Australia to ease way for Chinese students

Global Education News

A legislative proposal, which is related to a package of measures to ease student visas and simplify academic assessments is likely to be passed in the coming two or three months, according to Eliza Chui, education commissioner at the Australian consulate in Beijing, on Jan.23.
“Assessment levels would be reduced from the previous five to three,” she said. “Previously, Chinese students belonged to Level 4. But once the legislation is finally approved, China will belong to Level 3 automatically.” “This means that finance evidence for Chinese students would reduce from 18 months to 12 months,” she said, adding that the changes will clear the way for Chinese students to study in Australia for junior middle school.
