While China emerges as the number one nation in the BRICS & Emerging Economies Rankings, Indian institutions make up 10% of the list, including nine top 50 places – led by Panjab University (joint 13). The specialist Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) take up six places, led by IIT Kharagpur (30), followed by Aligarh Muslim University (50) and Jawaharlal Nehru University (57).
