China Education News

China is soon to unveil a reform plan on the college entrance examination, revealed by an official on March 22. According to the plan, there will be a technical exam, targeting the technically inclined students wishing to be engineers and senior mechanics etc., and an academic exam, which is similar to the current practice throughout the country that only tests textbook knowledge for academically inclined students.

Editor’s note: More and more students each year are electing to skip the NCEE (gaokao) examination, leading to their choice to study abroad. This plan by China’s MoE may result in increased participation rates and further slow study abroad market growth.
