College graduates in China to hit record high in 2014
The number of college graduates in China nationwide in 2014 will reach a record high of 7.27 million, exceeding this year’s number by 280,000, China Central Television reports. With record numbers of graduates coming out of colleges and putting pressure on job markets, the Ministry of Education urges more college graduates to seek employment in grassroots companies or to work in small and middle-sized cities, and encourages them to work for non-public companies to promote the private economy. Meanwhile, local government departments are being required to ease requirements for college graduates to start their own businesses and to simplify approval procedures.
