Fourth Annual Ho Chi Minh City Global University Fair
As part of Grok’s new initiative, the Grok Schools Community, on October 3rd – 4th, we hosted a virtual fair via Zoom for a group of twelve international schools and high schools in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. In attendance were 90 universities from the USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, UAE, and Vietnam itself.
The fair was organized alongside lead counsellor Phillip Wenturine from The American School, and allowed participating universities to give dedicated presentations, as well as a number of thematic presentations to students from across the twelve schools. Following on from the sessions on the Saturday, university representatives also had the opportunity to host one-to-one, or one-to-many sessions with interested students the following day.
According to destination data collected by Grok from the fair, the US was the number one study destination for attending students, with 60% of attending students registering an interest in speaking with a US-based institution. Canada, Australia, and the UK followed as other popular study destinations. Data collected also suggested that students are keen to engage with multiple universities at virtual fairs, with 53% of students requesting follow up from four or more of the universities that attended.
The Grok Schools Community has been designed to address how to successfully build long-term meaningful and mutually beneficial relationships between universities and overseas high schools – while driving higher education enrolment.
