HACKING INQUIRY PUTS ELITE IN NEW LIGHT
Investigators looking into web attacks on Google last year have traced the intrusions to computers at Shanghai Jiaotong University as well as the more obscure Lanxiang Vocational School in Shandong Province. However, both of the two schools strongly denied the attacks. Prior to this event, Lanxiang Vocational School in Shandong was obscure. However, after the Google event, they are now widely known across China. Ironically, regardless of their actual involvement, the press coverage implicating them has overall had a positive impact on their name brand for computer science in China!
