Six central universities to open yoga departments
Six central universities will start yoga departments this academic year and the number will be raised to 20 within a year. Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani made this announcement at the National Seminar on Yoga where she called upon heads of technological institutions to help provide empirical evidence on the benefits of yoga.
