US universities experience 32% increase in Indian students

US universities and colleges have experienced a 32% increase in the number of students from India since last year, as compared to 9% internationally, as reported by “SEVIS by the Numbers,” a quarterly report on international students studying in the US. “24% of all F & M students studying at schools in the state of Texas are from India, followed by 17% from China,” SEVP said.
At 300,000, China has the highest number of international students in the US, followed by India with nearly 150,000. Among them, 405,000 F & M students are studying STEM fields. As many as 81% of all Indian students are in the STEM field, the highest for any country, the report said.
