Australia eases student visa requirements for ‘high risk’ countries

Global Education News

Australia has eased the financial requirements for student visa applications from ‘high risk’ countries including China, India and Pakistan as part of a move to streamline its student visa assessment level framework. The changes also lower the evidence requirements for English language proficiency and previous study. Students from China, India and Pakistan need only demonstrate that they have sufficient funds for 12 months’ study rather than 18. This will enable students to apply “with up to AUS$40,000 (US$37,000) less in the bank”.
