China’s Ministry of Education encourages entrepreneurship

China Education News

China’s education department has called on colleges to offer a more flexible schooling system for students wanting to establish their own business. The Education Ministry informed colleges that training programs and business competitions could help students pursue their business interest. The government body also instructed schools to consider allowing students to opt out of the mainstream education system to pursue business opportunities off campus; to invite entrepreneurs and venture capital investors to share their expertise; and to help with grants for students to finance their business plans and provide supporting facilities.
With 7.5 million students expected to graduate from Chinese colleges in 2015, the Ministry hopes that encouraging graduates to pursue entrepreneurship will help diversify the job market and ease current pressures.
