The Chinese government has removed Canada’s University of Calgary from its list of accredited institutions – a move school officials fear is linked to the Dalai Lama’s visit last autumn, writes Gwendolyn Richards for the Calgary Herald. The university hosted the Tibetan spiritual leader and awarded him an honorary degree when he visited the city last September. As most of you know, removal from the MOE list of accredited institutions can be very damaging for that institutions’ ability to recruit students from Chinese speaking sources
