Science students can look forward to higher salaries
China’s Ministry of Education tracked 200,000 graduates across 14 cities in 2014 and found graduates with degrees in science and technology enjoyed higher starting salaries than their peers. The average monthly starting salary of college graduates was 3,400RMB (US$ 550), with science and technology grads earning an average monthly salary of 4,700RMB. Geographically, Beijing offered the highest average monthly pay for new job seekers at 4,340RMB, followed by 4,225RMB in Shanghai and 3,930 RMB in south China’s Guangdong province.
