SEMINAR ON SAFETY FOR OVERSEAS CHINESE STUDENTS HELD IN CHICAGO
A seminar on safety for overseas Chinese students was recently held at Illinois Institute of Technology (ITT) in Chicago. More than 150 Chinese students and visiting scholars studying at various universities in Chicago region attended the event. The number of Chinese students studying in U.S. Midwest has increased sharply in recent years, surpassing 32,000 this year. However, students are becoming increasing concerned with safety, said Yang Guoqiang, the Chinese Consulate-General to Chicago. Yang called on the Chinese students to be vigilant while studying in U.S. and raise awareness on self-protection.
