Shanghai colleges implement programs for future business leaders

As Shanghai strives to establish itself as an international financial center, the city’s educational institutions are implementing programs to cultivate the future financial and business leaders that will be needed to drive the local economy.
The Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance announced a training program for its Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) Finance program to help students advance their studies and strengthen their professional networks. As well, the institute will also launch a 15 million RMB (USD 2.5 million) scholarship program for students enrolled in the finance MBA program in 2015. The Institute has also been hosting numerous events including anewly launched investing contest called the Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect and the China semi-finals of the 2014 Global Investment Contest (GIC). The city’s other universities, including Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, have also hosted a series of research and training activities tied to the development of the Shanghai Free Trade Zone (FTZ) that was launched this year.
