In Beijing, China, Emily Dai serves as the Director for Grok's China Marketing Services unit, which leads Grok's China-based teams in delivering successful results to Grok clients as well as assisting the clients with achieving their short and long-term goals in China. Emily was the China Marketing Manager for Destination Canada, promoting Canada as the top destination in the market before joining Grok. She possesses extensive marketing experience in the China market, which includes marketing strategies development and implementation, social media and digital marketing, media relationships, and networking.

What were you doing before working at Grok?
Marketing Manager, China for Destination Canada. As someone with ten years of experience working in marketing, I have a deep understanding of the development of the China markets, media landscape changes, and digital marketing.

What was your first job in education?
Marketing Manager for a Canadian company to develop the partnership between Canadian and Chinese universities.

What does international education mean for you?
Through international education, people learn about cultures from around the world, which broadens perspectives and helps build diverse connections. Most importantly, international education fosters an understanding and appreciation for people from other backgrounds. These can have a significant impact on the way people perceive the world and the way they live their lives.

What is one of the most satisfying outcomes you’ve helped a client to achieve?
I have been involved in helping one of my clients identify its unique selling point, develop promotional strategies and implement them. Ultimately, the client stands out from many competitors, and brand awareness has increased significantly. I am so happy to see that the client is satisfied with the outcome and so proud to be a part of it.  

What is your favourite movie/book?
A Dream in Red Mansions, Lean in 

What is your dream travel destination? Why?
Iceland. I have been to arctic regions and would like to explore more of the great nature and wild landscape in arctic.
