UGC releases list of fake universities
The University Grants Commission, the highest body for higher education in India, recentlypublished a list of fake universities in the country for the benefit of students. A total of 21 universities were on the list, with 8 located in Uttar Pradesh (the highest in the country)and another 6 located in Delhi. There was one university on the list from each of: Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar and West Bengal.
