WeChat expands into the US and EU
China’s most popular messaging service provider WeChat, owned by Tencent Holdings, is expanding in the EU and the US in a bid to find more mobile payment opportunities. One of WeChat’s latest moves in Western markets was the official introduction of its payment services in the US after teaming up with Silicon Valley-based mobile payment startup Citcon. Global Times
