Interest in IITs on the rise
The number of students taking the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), the admission test for undergraduate courses in IITs and other premier engineering schools, is continuing to grow across the country, with growth in Bangalore recorded at 6-10% annually. At the same time, India’s President Mr. Pranab Mukherjee has said that the proliferation of engineering institutes in the country has taken a toll on the quality of education and physical infrastructure.
