Top 10 most expensive destinations for studying abroad

HSBC analyzed the available data on higher education in 13 countries and revealed the top 10 most expensive destinations for studying abroad. Australia is the most expensive country for overseas students, with an average total cost of university fees and living expenses of US $38,500 per year. The US ranks second on the list, with an average annual cost of more than US $35,000, followed by the UK, with annual expenses exceeding US $30,000. Several Asian countries and regions were also featured on the list. Hong Kong was in seventh place with US $22,000 in annual costs, just below Singapore’s US $24,200. Japan and Mainland China ranked 8th and 10th respectively while the United Arab Emirates, Canada, and Russia occupied the other positions in 4th, 5th and 9th respectively.
